Oak Park, IL?

Is this a nice area of Chicago? I mean nice like, nice looking, good schools, good neighborhoods, culturally diverse, etc. I am moving there sometime next year and would like some feedback. Thanks!

Travel Tips

It is nice. It's fairly diverse... just had some pretty great Indian food there last Friday! Quick train ride (Green Line) to Chicago. It has a cute little downtown area. A lot of very nice neighborhoods and a lot of okay neighborhoods. As far as suburbs go... it's pretty nice.

I don't live there but I've been there and yeah its pretty nice. Nice roomy large and expensive houses. Everything is green and looks pretty. Its a really nice place. If I had to move from where I live now I would probably move to Oak Park

Resident parking is a problem. Limited space means high prices for night time parking. Make sure it is included in your lease if renting.
It's also the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway and home to lots of architecture by Frank Lloyd Wright. One of my best friend's lives there and he loves it!
There are good areas and bad areas in Oak Park. The downtown area is fabulous. There are some huge homes there, but there are pockets with drug dealers as well. It depends on where you live.
