Travel Info What are some nice neighborhoods close to downtown chicago? Travel Tips Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, and Lakeview/Wrigleyville. Lakeview/Wrigleyville is a fun urban area for yuppies, hipsters, and sports fans. Gold Coast and Lincoln Park are yuppie areas with a lot of shops, restaurants, and nightlife. There are also many nice high rise condo buildings downtown. Oprah Winfrey used to live in the Water Tower Place. She moved to a place on Lake Shore Drive. Chris Farley used to live in the John Hancock Center. Donald Trump is building a nice condo hotel by the river. The most expensive units cost over $12 million, I believe. There are many other expensive condo hotels in the works. Others north shore and near west suburbs. gold coast, river north i'm moving there soon and what i've been told is the nicer stuff is north. Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Oak Park Oak Park. Besides the neighborhoods mentioned, there are other areas south of the downtown area that are nice, such as Dearborn Park, South Loop, Prairie Avenue, Chinatown, and Bridgeport. West of the Downtown area include the West Loop, Ukranian Village, and Bucktown. Good luck in your search! |
