Can you recommend any counselors in the Chicago area that have helped you get better? |
Travel Info I talk with a lot of people who have been seeing therapists for 10 and 20 years, and have not improved much, but are paying $100 or more per hour. Is anyone seeing a therapist in the Chicago area, or northern suburbs who you would recommend? I don't hear too many stories of people who went to see a therapist for severe anxiety, and improved enough to stop treatment. I'd like to hear from people like that. Travel Tips I, also, live in the Chicago area, and some friends I know have been seeing counselors for a while, and none of them seem to be getting any better. (One friend still has anxiety problems after 2 years, so why hasn't this therapist suggested maybe some medicine??!!) If I hear any success stories at all, I'll edit my post. Others You have not mentioned where you work if you are working but some of your bigger companies have whats called a Employee Assistance Program...they will refer you to a therapist of some sort and depending on the program it might even be covered by your insurance. I agree $100 is a little steep but if you look there are qualified therapists out there who can help you out at a lesser price. |
