What's it like to live in chicago?

Travel Info
im wondering, like what's there to do, what kind of people, what's the weather like?

Travel Tips
Chicago is a major working class city.

Does not pretend to be anything it is not.
Public transportation can get you almost anywhere.
Any type of home you want or can afford is available.

Anything you want to do you can find in Chicago.

Native Chicagoans are the friendliest people in the U.S outside of the Amish or Mayberry.

Chicago's weather is so predictable because it is so unpredictable.
(Snow in June. 80 degrees in January. Temperature drops of 20-30 degrees in one hour. Lake effect snow.)
Or the Chicago slogan "If you do not like the weather, wait an hour."
Others
It's crowded, kinda dirty in some parts. Big, and is kinda colder than other areas because it's right by the lakefront.
It gets really cold in the winter and really hot in the summer. It's made up of a lot of neighborhoods that have different subcultures. Some areas are very segragated by race and economic class. You can find anything you want if you know where to look. It's almost like many little cities. When you add the suburbs (called Chicagoland) the possibilities really increase.
I lived in Chicago for almost 40 years.

THERE ARE GOOD PEOPLE , AND ROUGH ONES, AS WELL! LIKE ANYPLACE! IT IS FAST PACED! BIG CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS!
THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO THERE! MUCH TO SEE- MUSEUMS, SHOPPING, EXCELLENT FOOD, ZOOS, PARKS, LAKE, SO MUCH MORE!
THE WEATHER IS MILD- 80-90S IN SUMMER, LOWER HUMIDITY, MILD FALLS, NOT TOO BAD OF WINTERS ANYMORE! SOME SNOW... DESCENT !
GREW UP NEAR CHICAGO AND LIVED THERE FOR 20 SOME YEARS!
Tons to do - great museums, art festivals, biking on the lakefront, thousands of restaurants, street performers, architecture tours. The people are friendly - midwestern types for the most part, happy to help, which makes Chicago's size less intimidating.

The weather's the bad part. Spring and fall are beautiful, but it's ridiculously cold in the winter and can get oppressively hot and humid in the summer.
