Travel Tips
I would highly recomend taking a Sea Dog arcitectural tour on the river, they board at Navy Pier which is a great place to spend and afternoon. You will get a ton of history from the tour and see some of the really great buildings, old and new, from a totally different perspective. If your a Saturday night Live fan be sure to have at least a quick bite at Billy Goats Tavern at 430 W Michigan Ave. It is where the skit "Cheese burger no Pepsi" came from and John Belushi was really there on more than one occasion. If you like Prime rib the best one I think is Lawrys Prime Rib. They are at 100 E Onterio Street. There is an untouchables tour that is really fun too and will give you a ton of information on the mofia activity that happend in the city durring the prohabition. All the links for these ideas are below, hope all this helps, enjoy your trip to the windy city! Source(s): Sea Dog Tours: http://www.seadogcruises.com/chicagorive...

Other Travel Tips
Not too sure about specific tv/movie sets...I do know that the original Playboy mansion is in Chicago. If you are a fan of excellent food make sure to check out Bandera on the Magnificent Mile. (It's directly across from the Virgin Records store.) Also, make sure to grab some Garrett's popcorn if you come across a store...seriously the best popcorn on earth. :-) Also, there is a great lounge on top of the Hancock Building with an amazing view. Best of all, it's free! (Going to the top of the Sears building costs about $10 I think.)
Huge Chicago fanatic. :-)
Add one more place to the "school" type things, go the Museum of Natural History. It's great!
