I am moving to Chicago but I have kids and need good schools?

Travel Info
My sister lives in Lincoln Park but are the schools good there? Where else can you recommend? I will be a single mother with 3 daughters in a new city.

Travel Tips
If you are looking for good schools for kids and multi-cultural then there is only one place which is Naperville. It is a south-west suburb of chicago. The city has a very diverse demographics and is one of the best school district in the nation.

You can get city info at the following web site:
http://www.naperville.il.us/

You can get school district 204 info at the following web site:
http://www.ipsd.org/index.asp

You can also google 'naperville' and go through other naperville site to get more information. Source(s): Resident of Naperville area for past 6 years
Other Travel Tips
How old are the kids? If they're old enough for high school, see if they can test into Whitney Young. It's the top high school in, like, the country. If they're still young, send them to Keller Gifted Magnet Center.

Chicago, huh? Have fun in my City!

try skokie, niles or morton grove. all are suburbs north of the city and have less gang problems. most schools in the area have k-8 and 4 yr hs, but not middle schools.
be aware of the neighborhood cultural make-up of any area if you move to chicago proper. many are seemingly good, but are really not that healthy an environment, especially in some areas dominated by the less economically advantaged.
over all, though, the city itself offers many cultural and historic activities anyone could enjoy at a fair price, and even some at no cost.
Would reccomend Oak Park, IL, River Forest, IL or Homewood, IL
Lincoln Park has good schools.
Roscoe Village also has very good schools and not too far from Lincoln Park.
Your sister should be able to recommend neighborhoods to you and from that you can go on-line if you have the names of schools and get stats for every school--student-teacher ratio, diversity of student population, test scores, etc.
