I'm going to chicago soon and I need to know some fun places to go.

Travel Tips

Depends on what you like to do. Like live music? Check out Double Door, House of Blues, Kingston Mines, Metro, Subterranean, Green Mill Jazz club, etc.

Like comedy? Check out Second City, IO Theater, The Annoyance Theater, The Playground Theater, The Spot, etc.

Like theater? There's the Goodman theater, Victory Gardens theater, Cadilliac Theater, and about a zillion small storefront theater companies

Want to kick back? There's two professional ballparks, Oak Street Beach, Millenium Park, Grant Park, a bunch of relaxing and inexpensive boat tours, etc.

There's a lot to do here, sometimes TOO much. Pick up a copy of Time Out Chicago magazine when you get here. It will have EVERYTHING going on in the city for that week. It's a great source
Others

Lived here my whole life. Check out Millenium Park, the museums (Field, Science and Industry, Art Institute), Andersonville, Buck Town, the Sears Tower, downtown. There really is a lot to do.
Chicago is great! There is so much to do. I recommend you check out the Hancock Building. It is not the tallest, but it has great views of the lake. There is also Lincoln Park, Grant Park and Millennium Park. What I really enjoyed while there is going on an architecture tour and a ghost tour. Both offered a lot of interesting historical facts about the city. Try to get out and explore some cool/hip neighborhoods. Wicker Park, Bucktown, Ravenswood, Andersonville and Wrigleyville are all really fun and have great shops and nightspots.
