What is a good place to go when visiting Chicago??? |
Travel Info I am going to have some relatives come visit me from Mexico, I live in the Chicago suburbs, what is a good place to take them, they are young and love to go out to different places, any ideas??? Travel Tips Well they may enjoy going on an architecture tour or a ghost tour. I personally have loved both. They offer an interesting history of the city. The Hancock Building has a lounge on one of the top floors that offers lunch and drink specials. You can go grab a coke and enjoy the fabulous views for very little money. I also recommend you venture out into some of the really cool neighborhoods around the city. Wicker Park, Bucktown, Andersonville, and Wrigleyville offer excellent restaurants, shopping and night life. Don't forget you can always do the standard tourist stuff...the Sears Tower, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Michigan Ave, ect. ect. Hope your family has a fabulous time....Chicago is a great place to visit. Others here are some ideas *sears tower *lincoln park zoo *taste of chicago *john hancock tower *navy pier *art institute *shopping *millenium park If your family is from Mexico, in addition to what others are suggesting here, you might want to take them to the Pilsen neighborhood around 18th and Racine. That's the Mexican neighborhood of Chicago - there's a terrific and very genuine Mexican restaurant there called Nuevo Leon, for example. The neighborhood's a little dicey at night, though. |
