Is there a good mexican restraunt anywhere close to Michigan Ave in Chicago? |
Travel Info I will be visiting this summer and would like to have a nice mexican dinner one night. Anyone know of a nice mexican restraunt? We will be staying on Michigan Ave. Travel Tips I enjoy the Adobo Grill. Its in a neat area called Old Town and a short cab ride from Michigan Ave. They have a second location in Wicker Park which is also a short cab ride. Since opening in millennium year 2000, Adobo Grill has created mucho buzz and a muy loyal following. Although not mexican a restaurant with a lot of latin flair that is also near Frontera Grill is National 27. Its not that far from Michigan Ave... Its a great Place to have dinner and a nice time... Take care... Bcn_mimosa Rick Bayless' Frontera Grill and Topolobampo. Both are located at 445 N. Clark street. Topolobampo is more upscale, Frontera more casual. Bayless is famous for his Mexican fusion food and he hosts his own cooking show nationally on PBS. Clark Street is about 5 blocks west of Michigan ave. and depending on where you're staying, you can probably walk there on a nice evening. But it's worth it. http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurants/g... sadly, to get anything decent (meaning better than Chipotle) you will have to travel a few blocks west to Frontera Grill, which is at 449 N. Clark St. Its 5 blocks west of Michigan Ave. The cross street is Hubbard St. Trust me when I tell you that it is absolutely worth the short walk. Weekends are INSANE so get reservations first. This restaurant was just rated as one of the top restaurants in the country. It is owned by Rick Bayless.
