Travel Tips
I have stayed in so many hotels in Chicago over the years that have all been great! The one that really stands out for me is the Hotel Monoco at 225 W Wabash. The rooms were fun and didn't have the usual "hotel room" feel. There is wine tasting in the evenings in the loby that is free to the guests and the concierge service was so nice. They are also pet frendly. One of the really fun things is that if you want they will put a gold fish in your room for you, its a really nice touch. This hotel is less than 4 miles from the United Center and a cab could get you there is less than 10 minutes. Hope you have a great time and enjoy the city while your there. :) Source(s): http://www.monaco-chicago.com/index.html...

the wheeler masion is gorgeous! it is right by lake shore drive and michigan avenue, and it is such a cozy place to stay. the employees are extremely friendly, and so helpful. you can look it up on www.wheelermasion.com. honestly, it is so great, i stayed there once and I definitely want to go back again.

the congress plaza hotel is another good one. Right off of michigan avenue, it has a lot more rooms than the wheeler mansion does. This hotel has a really nice resteraunt downstairs. their website is //congresshotelplaza.com.
hope this helped, and good luck!
The United Center does not have Hotels in its immediate vicinity. However, The Loop (downtown Chicago) does and is directly a few minutes east of the United Center. Depending on what you define as good and your spending limits the answer may vary. The Sheraton Hotel located in front of NBC Tower is located just off the magnificent Mile and two blocks from the loop. Prime location, has a beautiful river view and walkway and has a great lounge and ambiance. Others you may want to consider are Hotel 54, The Hardrock Hotel and and the Hyatt Regency and Swiss Hotel. All these are located between the Loop, off the river, and a short cab ride to the United Center.
Dont ask.... I just know.
The Crown Plaza hotel is a hop, skip and a jump from the United Center. The Hotel is on Madison and the United Center is further west on Madison, so it's a relatively short but straight-shot cab ride. The hotel is a little pricey (at least for MY wallet .. $153 a night), but it's close to the UC and it's right in the middle of the Greektown neighborhood, which has great Greek restaurants (like Greek Islands, Rodity's, Athena, etc.) a great breakfast place, and a few good bars on the street, all within walking distance of the hotel.
