Travel Tips You want the Irving Park Station, located by the Kennedy and Irving Park Road. At that point, you will have to transfer to CTA buses that can take you down Irving Park Road and close to the Ballpark, near the corner of Sheridan and Irving Park (Sheridan becomes Sheffield a block north of Wrigley). Otherwise, you can take the train downtown to the Oglivie Station (well, used to be the Northwestern, but they changed the name), then walk north and east to the Merchandise Mart El stop (above Wells street, north of the River). Take the Brown Line north to Fullerton or Belmont, and then transfer to the Red Line at the platform. El stop at Addison is across the street from Wrigley. (or, just get off the El at Belmont, and walk up Sheffield 4 blocks to Wrigley.) Source(s): Metra (Fare will be $5 for the roundtrip with their weekend pass): http://metrarail.com/sched/cnw_nw/cnw_nw... CTA, includes trip planner, bus and train schedules: http://www.transitchicago.com Other Travel Tips Your nuts for wanting to go to that cesspool they call a baseball park. google map it. Obviously your train won't go exactly to Wrigley field, (wow, what a thought if it did, huh?) but if your depot, -like most commuter train depots-, is downtown, then it isn't that far a walk to the red line subway that does go to the park... We once called it the State Street Subway or 'the Howard Line', too... Addison Street, is an all stop station where the ballpark is . Feel free to ask people along the way no one is going to kill you over it... When your train gets to the station, head for State Street (Chicago's biggest downtown main street), and get on at whatever station you are closest to. When you do you will only be about 15 minutes away. Take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train to Irving Park. Schedules are availiable at www.metrarail.com. From there, take the CTA No. 80 bus east to Clark Street. Walk four blocks south to the ballpark. The Metra website has a link to the schedule. Otherwise, you can get it at www.yourcta.com. Have fun and Go Cubs! |
