I have two girlfriends visiting me in Chicago this Saturday- what are some good bars/bar districts?

Travel Info
Hi! I don't know where to go out in Chicago (I just moved up here), but I definetely do not want to hit up Rush and Division or huge tourist areas. I want to show my friends a good time, and I am willing to spend more money than usual for cover and drinks as long as it not extremely expensive. If you have any advice on what bars or bar districts to go to, I would really appreciate it. By the way, my friends and are are in our twenties. Thanks!

go on a chicago site and search for bars...

I see "No" wasn't more specific. You can check www.metromix.com for places and events. YOu can also try the bars on Armitage. Start from Gamekeepers and Stanleys and work your way west on armitage. Another spot is Damen and Milwaukee, there is Double Doors and a bunch of bars there. Can's is a real good place.

Have Fun this weekend..
There are quite a few good areas other than Rush Street. There's the area around Wrigley field, Lincoln Park and the Wicker Park area. All three are good for bar hopping. If one bar or club is dead, you can always just walk a few feet to the next one and the next one and the next one and so on. Wicker Park is probably better for clubbing and dancing. Wrigley Field and Lincoln Park (on Lincoln Ave. beginning at Fullerton and heading south) is for serious drink pounding. There's also the area around Division street begining around Damen Ave.and going north or south, or even east and west on Damen. These are mostly "poser" bars, for lack of a better name. Lots of "hipsters". Then there's the River North area. There are a few bars and clubs in this area, but quite a few of them charge a cover and it can get pricey. Wrigleyville might be the best bargain. Lots of bars, very few (if any) charge a cover, lots of cheap drink specials (they;re all in competition with each other) and lots of 20somethings.
