Where can I cheap movie theaters in Chicago? |
Travel Info My boyfriend and I are looking for ways to have fun without spending a lot of money, and we figured we could go to a "Dollar show" and catch something we didn't see when it first came out, but we don't know where any are. Travel Tips if you're over 21, try the Brew N View at the Vic theater. You gets 3 movies for $8 and $2-3 pitchers of beers. You can bring food too i believe. The first show is at 7pm. This is Thursdays only. Another option is the $3 shows at the Logan theater on Milwaukee ave. in Logan Square, You can find out what's playing at either of these and any other theater in Chicago and burbs at. www.chicagoreader.com in the Movie.now showing section. Plus they have movie reviews if you're interested. I just took my kids to see Shrek 3 at the Logan on friday and I'm going with my friend to see Knocked Up there tomorrow. can't beat $3! Others the only dollar show i know is harlem corners but they're closed down. I think you might be out of luck there. Former "$ show" goer There aren't too many second-run theaters in Chicago city limits any more, if at all. The Village theaters (on North Ave and in Rogers Park) use to show 2nd run movies, as did the Three Penny theater on Lincoln. But the Village on North Ave and the Three Penny are closed and the Village in Rogers Park only shows first run movies. You best bet to see a movie cheaply is to hit the early bird shows. Most theaters have reduced admission prices for the very first show of the day, usualy around $5 or $6. Grab a copy of the local newspaper and scan the movie ads. The info is there in the small print. If you are not limited to Chicago, Buffalo Grove Theater is $2 normally and $1 on Tuesdays. |
