Looking for some cool local bands in the Chicago area.....? |
Travel Info im out here for the summer, can any one recommend some good local music.....or spots too see good music....anything to do with music...i love it all!!!!!!!!!!!!! Travel Tips Pick up a copy of The Reader. Ifyou can't find one, ask someone. Most big bookstores have them, as well as a few other places. The Reader has a big music section every week with all of theband playing in town, from thebig national acts to the little dinky band inthe dive bar. I'd say abut 80 percent of the band listings in The Reader are about local bands. It's probably your best source. Source(s): http://www.chicagoreader.com/ Other Travel Tips The band 7th Heaven is pretty good, mostly classic rock with about 25% original material. They play loud, well, and often. It would be almost impossible to miss them around town, because they are playing everywhere. The Redwalls. They are going to be at a Belmont garden fest in a couple of weeks. Music? Not quite local, but performing locally. Rodrigo y Gabriela and John Mayer @ the Taste of Chicago tomorrow. Free concert! (: Edit: Also, I just remembered - the Chicago radio station Q101 (101.1 FM) has a "Local Online" section on their website. There, local bands submit their music websites and get ratings. Just click through some of the best and you'll be sure to find great local alternative bands & find out when and where they're performing.
