I am trying to call my girlfriend in La Serena in Chile from here in Australia. How do I call her?

She is with Chillean mobile carrier Claro.
She has an 8 digit number that begins with a 7.
I have tried using the country code of 56 then city code of 51 then her mobile number. but that doesn't work. I have also tried many other combinations of country code, then her number etc.
Can anyone please help me with some information on the exact numbers (country code's and city codes to use)???? PLEASE HELP!!!
