What happens if you overstay a tourist visa in China by one day? |
Travel Info What happens if you overstay a tourist visa in China by one day? Travel Tips Tony - it is one day, relax, I had this happen to me, I waited to renew my visa and there was some issues I did not expect and it put me over a few days, of course the University I was at pulled some strings for me, but, the fine per day is 500 RMB, they are not going to send you to jail for just one day over, if you need help renewing your visa go to the below site I do know one guy who overstayed his visa 1 entire year and he got 5 days in jail, so, one day is no big deal, you can also call your embassy/consulate and ask them their advice Source(s): www.chinavisa.com Other Travel Tips I AM NOT EXACTLY SURE, BUT I THINK... THEY KILL YOU DON'T STAND IN FRONT OF ANY TANKS... pretty scary thing to ask - I think there's certainly some difference - in India tourists in Goa and the holy areas of North have been known to overstay their tourist visas for YEARS - In china, you better not mess your future existence - even if you don't get executed, it's not funny to share a cockroach-infested dungeon with drug offenders for two years before your embassy helps you out. No, I wouldn't risk it at all. If there's nothing you can do, maybe you can try your embassy in China and seek an extension? Sorry I'm not hugely helpful. you should go to the local public security bureau before your visa expires. Request an extension of you visa. The first extension is usually granted with out problems. |
