Where to go shopping in Kowloon? |
Travel Info Probably near the Nathan Road. Shopping areas with great value and great price. I'll go there just for 3 days, and I don't want to waste my time finding places..Thanks!!!!! Travel Tips First of all, 3 days? 3 DAYS?!?! That's not enough! We went there last April for one week and it's still not enough! Anyway, back to your question. Nathan Road itself has many jewelries and watch stores. The Temple Street Night Market in Yau Ma Tei is a great place to find good deals. It's called the "Men's Street" because it has many cheap items for men. There are also some fortune tellers there, and some of them speak English. It opens at 4pm but really comes alive after sunset. If you want to find cheap women's wardrobe and affordable toys for children, go to Tung Choi Street. It's sometimes called the "Ladies Market". For cheap second hand and brand new electronics, Apliu Street Flea Market in Sham Shui Po is the place to go. If, however, you want to find more variety, the nearby Sai Yeung Choi Street has many gadget stores. Be careful though because it's one of the most crowded streets in Hong Kong. If you have more money to burn, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui has many selections of international brands. It's one of the best places for an uptown shopping experience. It's just a short walk away from the Ferry Pier going to Central in Hong Kong Island. Others If you want good deaqls, I would go to the night market in Kowloon. It starts at 7:00pm and you can find anything there. You can go to Tsim Sha Tsui and walk around Cameron Road, or Granville Road (just off and perpendicular to Nathan road, very close to the TST Mosque). Or you can just walk along Nathan Road, starting from the Mosque up to Yau Ma Tei and there start the Night market... should be a good few hours walk, if you are in the shopping stroll (meaning...slow!). You can do the whole walk from TST to Mong Kok pretty quick, I walk very fast and I can make it in about 30-40 minutes. Or go to Mong Kok, and do Ladies Market (Sai Yeung Choi street and Tung Choi street), parallel to that is the Sports shoes street....tons of sports wear and equipment. For sure you can get your 3 days worth of shopping then. In Mong Kok there is also a "small" computer center if you want to get stuff there Living in HK for 14 years |
