Do you have any trouble in conversation when you travel in china? |
Travel Info maybe the content below can give you a help. http://www.hellomandarin.com/ilovechines... Travel Tips yes, in Chinese and English! Sometimes people even want to speak German with me, I guess I look like I am German, but I don't speak it, : ) Source(s): living Shanghai Other Travel Tips Ofcourse if you don't know mandarin you'll have trouble conversing very hard.....i am lucky my wife is Chinese and i let her do all the talking.....if we got separated there i would be stuffed. I have no linguistic barriers in China. I speak near native fluent Mandarin and can understand several dialects and basically all accents. I am Caucasian so I get lots of funny looks when I open my mouth and they don't pick up on it over the phone. I am aware of Hellomandarin they are a group of Chinese in Beijing who offer online Mandarin lessons for beginning to intermediate language learners. Lived in China for 20 years. Was in Shanghai during the weekend. I speak a smattering of Mandarin but still found it difficult to understand the language when spoken by Shanghainese. Maybe it's the strong accent. And they are LOUD. The local dialect is completely incomprehensible. I'm Cantonese by the way. |
