What can I do during my flight to Hong Kong?

Travel Info
I am going to travel to Hong Kong on July 1. This will be my first international flight, and I'm kind of nervous about getting bored during the 14 hour flight. What are some things I can bring along (or do) to keep me from being bored? I want to bring my laptop, but I'm not sure if I can charge it on the plane. Any ideas?

Travel Tips
You don't mention the airline you're flying on, but on airlines such as Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines and many others, you will have your own personal entertainment center, with as many as 10-12 movies, dozens of tv shows, over 20 audio channels, and games as well, enough to keep you occupied for the entire flight. Almost all airlines have power ports in business and 1st class, not too many in economy, you'll have to check with your airline. But nothing passes the time away better than sleep, I've flown that route dozens of times and I learned to try and be as tired as possible when I boarded the flight, and was able to sleep 8-10 hrs. every time, it makes the flight go by very quickly, plus you'll feel a whole lot better when you get there. There's nothing like waking up for the meal they serve just before you land after a long sleep. Have fun.
PS. Since you are flying Cathay, if your plane has the "new" economy seats, you will have a power port.
Others
Listen to your ipod; get on the laptop
bring a game, one of those brickgame things will be fine too.
Its a long but pleasant flight so no reason to get nervous or fret.
Read a book.
Sleep! Sleep! and more Sleep! that's the best thing to do on a long haul flight. bring good reading materials, and yes, you can bring your laptop and be sure to ask for a seat with a port, unless, you will fly on a new craft where all seats have ports for laptop and such. hope this helps..
SLEEP will be your best friend on long flights. I've been flying between Shanghai and New York every year for the past 8 years, and the only thing that saves me from going insane is my trusty Tylenol PM. Two tablets down, and I'll be out for at least 8 hours - that helps IMMENSELY during these 15-hour flights, and the sleeping will make you feel much better with the jetlag (still, drink lots of water!).

The rest of the time, I read, and in the recent years with new airplanes, I've brought my laptop along with some TV-on-DVD sets because they're capable of keeping my attention for more than 2 hours. Check out www.seatguru.com and see if your aircraft has electrical outlets (most do these days).

Good luck, and remember - SLEEP!!!
You can read a good book, write a letter, read the newspapers provided by the plane,or ....close your eyes and have a good sleep.
