They rarely stop anyone and look at what they bring in, unless you declare something. There is a customs declaration form you fill out. If there is nothing to declare, you just give it to the customs agent on your way out of the baggage claim area at the "nothing to declare" exit. I've never seen them ever stop someone to listen to their iPod (or look at their laptop for dirty movies, etc.). I have gone through customs in Beijing many times, and this is where my experience is. It may be different if you enter other cities... I don't know. Others Yes, and so can be a lot of other things too. Be mindful when traveling not to offend others or break host country laws and restrictions, it ruins it for others who follow later. Yeah, they listen to everybody's iPods and MP3 players even when they contain 10,000 songs. C'mon, quit watching Fox News! I just got back from a month in southeast China (Hong Kong,Shekou,Shenzen,Guangzhou) and was only asked to show my passport and visa when traveling.My ipod and pc are packed with "offensive"material and the Chinese could care less.They're busy trying to survive on a day to day basis while Americans obsess about politics and music.The worst part of my travel experience was coming back through San Francisco airport.Idiots. |
