Travel Tips as long as you are not leaving the airport, no you do not need one Others just ask them at the airport airport in some cases not not if you are staying IN the airport...if you leave the premisis of the airport that is considered "entering the country" in which case you WOULD need a chinese visa. If you are just transiting then no ... if you want to leave the airport to take a view of shanghai then yes. If you are transitting at the airport for another connecting flight or the same flight out without leaving the airport transit area, you do not need any visa at all. This is very different from a stopover whereby you intent to leave the airport to stayover Shanghai for a day or more. In which case, you would require a visa. |
