URGENT ! do u think hong kong is a safe place to visit ? |
Travel Info pls express ur opinion whether u hv been to HK or not ! this is an urgent question , pls help !!! Travel Tips I have been to Hong Kong briefly 4 times. I have always found that it is safe. As with any big city, use common sense with regard to pick-pockets. If you go, the view from the tip of kowloon looking south is spectacular and one of the world's really special cityscapes. You have the stretch of water in the harbour, the spectacular lights of HK behind and then the mountains behind that. Its a nice place for an evening walk and there are plenty of people there. The subway and ferries are clean, safe and reliable. The people are friendly. The Chinese approach to policeing is often quite rigorous. In a situation where Australians might get two police in their patrol car, the Chinese would send a platoon. Often this is a disincentive to major crime. A whole range of violent crimes carry the death penalty. While I am against this, it is also a disincentive to those types of crimes Others I think it's pretty safe. But if your really not comfortable get a jacket or something that has pockets in the inside so you can keep your stuff in. Besides HK is fun!! Extremely safe...unless you plan on demonstrating against the Chinese goverment very vocally. But why would you? Yes of course it is! It's one of the safest cities in the world! My aunt who works there said that even if you walk alone on 12 midnight, you're still safe because there are many guards who are on patrol 24-7! I have been to Hong Kong last April Hong Kong is definitely a safe city. Just take the usual precaution as you would while travelling alone and you'll be fine. It's a great city of contrast and the summer sales is on! Just came back last week travelling alone in Hong Kong. |
