Why do you snore louder when you are drunk? |
Travel Info Why do you snore louder when you are drunk? Travel Tips Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. The sound may be soft or loud and unpleasant. The structures are usually the uvula and soft palate. The irregular airflow is caused by a blockage, due to causes including: Allergies Throat weakness causing the throat to close during sleep Mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in muscles Fat gathering in and around the throat Obstruction in the nasal passageway The passageway will even more closed when you consumed alcohol. Others i do but i quit drinking years ago but i only snored when I was drunk I think it's because your muscles are more relaxed when you are drunk, so while sleeping you inhale more deeply. The back of your throught and nasal passages fall close off slightly and cause that loud drunken snore!! I don't know, but I guess I'll find out tonight.....first night of spring break you know, we teachers really let loose when we can....LOL I don't snore. I don't drink.....much. Because alcohol relaxes all your mussels including your tongue, allowing your tongue to fall back into your throat more than usual. The sedative effect adds to it by allowing you to sleep through your own snoring. next time don't sleep with me when i am drunk, or just don't get me drunk. |
