Bear in mind that Queenstown is the tourist capital of NZ, and is quite expensive. It all depends on what you are looking for, really. The West Coast of the S. Island is rugged, beautiful, and nearly deserted. The Bay of Islands is warmer, sunnier, and also amazing. Rotorua is impressive, and I really like Taupo. So many things to do there, you just need to decide if you want to be in the more urban north, or the more remote south. They nearly seem like different countries, they are so different. |
