Christmas in Christchurch...?

1. I'll be spending the last days of my honeymoon and I'm thinking I may spend them in my room making babies... or otherwise; So anyone with suggestions, like shopping? Of course if most of you say making babies is fine... why not? ;-)
2. By the way, what do New Zealanders do during Christmas anyway? Kinda curious cos' the whole of Munich kinda' shut down during Christmas when my wife was there 2 years back.
