Travel Info If i live in cincinnati, where can i go on a weekend trip? Travel Tips I guess it depends on what kind of stuff you like and how far you're willing to drive. I grew up in Ohio and used to take lots of weekend road trips to escape my hometown and see what else was out there. A few ideas: - I recently visited Memphis and thought it was great -- saw Graceland, Stax, Sun Studios, etc. That's a pretty easy drive from Cinci. I drove through Nashville, too, and it looked like a nice city. Great music and southern food in both places. - Washington DC isn't too far, either, and there's tons to do there. Museums, monuments, government buildings. Battlefields nearby, too, if you're into history. - Niagara Falls isn't far, and it's worth seeing. And once you're there, you might as well cross the border and check out Canada. Toronto isn't far from the border, and Ontario's wine country is pretty, too. - Cedar Point is great, if you're into amusement parks (and better than King's Island -- sorry!) and there's other fun stuff to do on Lake Erie, like boating, jet skis, swimming, ferries to the islands. - Some people really like Amish country in central and eastern Ohio -- it doesn't do anything for me, personally, but it's interesting to see a completely different way of life. - If you're outdoorsy, there are some great state parks and campgrounds in and around Ohio, and they don't usually advertise -- there might be something really cool that you've never heard of that's not too far away. Check out the state park sites -- they usually have parks listed by types of activities, too. I hope this helps! :-) Source(s): http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/... http://parks.ky.gov/ http://www.wvparks.com/ Other Travel Tips |
