Check for any duress in their political climate towards American's in general, check for any civil unrest that you may not want to get caught up in, immunizations against certain infectious and commincable diseases, cultural differences and how to respect them, climate changes and how to dress appropriately, ethnic foods and their ingredients that you may be allergic to, making sure the water is safe for consumption and if not then where can you get safe bottled water, any rash of criminal activities towards tourists and where they are most prevalent to occur, and above all trust your instincts, use good judgement and situational awareness.
