Please Advise Is Cincinnati area safe?

I am taking my familty and kids to Cincy zoo, and cincy musuem in july of 2006. Can anyone please tell me if these attractions are in a safe area or are they in crime ridden locations? I don't want to jeopardize my family safety.

The zoo is on Vine street, is this safe during the day?
And the Museum is on western avenue.

Hi there. I live in Cincinnati and have lived here all 30+ years of my life. Vine Street is a very long street. Part of it does indeed go through some seedy parts of Over The Rhine, which is near downtown. However, the zoo is far removed from that area and in a safe area of town.

The Museum is also in a safe area, just a few minutes from downtown.

Both have their own parking lots, closed off from the public, so you shouldn't worry.
