I need your help! Going to cincinnati in August to see a tennis tournament. Which hotel is the best to stay?

Travel Info
I'm going to the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters tennis tournament in August in Cincinnati. I would like to stay in a hotel or B&B close to the tournament. I do not need the most rizty hotel. Just a safe place to stay while I indulge in my passion for watching professional tennis. I have to act fast because I know all the best places are filling up. Thanks for your consideration.

Travel Tips
Oh, do I have a place for you!

During the ATP, all of the Mason/Deerfield/Blue Ash hotels and the restaurants that normally serve this area (every city has an area like this that's nothing but overpriced subdivisions and office parks outside the beltway) are packed beyond their normal capacity, and the lines and crowds are ridiculous.

Many folks respond to this by staying down in the city, and are rewarded by horrendous traffic snarls trying to get up I-71 to the tournament.

About 10-15 minutes away is this wonderful, friendly little town called Lebanon...just barely north of Kings' Island. When you imagine small town America on a postcard, this place is what you dream up. To boot, since no one thinks about staying north of the tournament, the trip to and from will be a breeze.

There's a small Inn (the oldest such continuously operating establishment in the state) called The Golden Lamb, which is best known for its 4 star restaurant, and which oozes historic charm while keeping room rates very low (like under $100/night). You'll be smack in the middle of a very walkable old Main Street America looking area with shops, restaurants, and the most fun ice cream parlor ever. There is a terrific bar/grill in the back of the building that I recommend wholeheartedly over the finer dining in the Main dining room.

To access the place's website, go to www.goldenlamb.com and see for yourself. And yes, I'd definitely book the room ASAP.

Have fun at the ATP, and thank you for bringing your tourist dollars to southwestern Ohio. Source(s): I actually lived in Lebanon for about a year and a half while I was working in the area of the tournament...I'm not kidding about the ease of the commute.
