What to wear if im travling?

im fixing to be on a trip to North Daokta and i have never been outside of Arkansas. i was wondering if i can wear shorts or am i goon freeze? im so used to this southern heat and extream humitidy? i mean the temp today was 102 and near 85 percent humitidy! and are planes cold or comfortable? HELP ME PLEASE

for the flight: wear something really comfortable, you'll be sitting around for a long time, not just on the plane
I prefer long pants and bring a thin sweater, even in the summer, because you have little control over the AC and sometimes you end up being next to somebody who sits too close for your comfort
ND: it's not that hot and humid there right now, but it's summer, pack mostly shorts (you'll have the long garments from the flight for a backup :-)
