Where should a young professional live in Cincinnati, OH that is safe but fun!? |
Travel Info I am moving to Cincinnati but have never lived in a big city before... What parts of the city or suburbs would have a higher concentration of young adults? Travel Tips Let's see there's West Chester, Mason, Faifield, Monroe, Lebanon, Kenwood, Mt. Adams... Three letters to avoid in Cincy AT ALL TIMES...OTR. Over-the-Rhine used to be the richest part of our city and now it's the crime and poverty capital. Kentucky has some nice suburbs, but if you are working downtown (P&G?) you want to NOT have to cross the river every day. I grew up in West Chester. It's a suburb that is REALLY blowing up. Alot of young and fun people very safe and a straight shot on 75 to downtown and about 20 miles north. Mason and Fairfield are also nice, but they are further off of 75. And Mason is more married couples with families and Fairfield is a little more blue collar. Mt. Adams is the closest place I would personally live to downtown and it is FILLED with young adults. It's a party every night almost though, so if you want a little more quiet that's a no. And Monroe and Lebanon are still farm country, so if you like the fields and quiet there you go. Monroe is by Touchdown or Big Cheese Jesus...can't miss it. Middletown is too north and not super safe. Same goes for Hamilton. My car got broken into there. I'd say: West Chester Enjoy Skyline Chili, The Cone, Montgomery Inn, Newport on the Levy, Jolly's and all that jazz! You are going to LOVE the Nati! Others WRIGHT'S POINT APARTMENTS!!!! It's in NKY but 3 min from down town! Check out their website. Www.wrightspoint.com Also, check out www.towneprop.com! They have the edge on everything here! I've been here 10 years (cinn.) and would only live at wrights! single young professionals all the way! Stay out of downtown. Twenty minute drive north is Fairfield. Yuppies everywhere. (In a good sense). Wildwood, located in Fairfield is a very nice community with condos and townhomes. Has a nice golf course, pools, tennis courts, pub/restaurant all inclusive. Plenty of nightlife, shopping, restaurants, etc. And home of the greatest grocery store you'll ever come across - Jungle Jim's International Market. Eastgate-about 30 minutes from cincy-pretty average rent prices, norwood-suburb of cincy-practically in the center of everything-some spots are not so great though. You could even try hyde park but the rent tends to be on the high side. lived at all 3 places one point in time. Clifton. Clifton is where the University of Cincinnati is located, so it's crawling with hip, urban people, not to mention it's got all of Cincinnati's finest. Greater's, LaRosa's and Skyline. visioncarejenn hit it on the money. I used to live in Cincy. Avoid the Batavia/Amelia area. Kinda hilljackish. |
