I need a romantic spot to watch the sunset in Cincinnati? |
Travel Info ANniversary comin up, any ideas? Travel Tips There are two really good areas that you could go for a romantic sunset in Cincinnati. The first is Mount Adams. I would suggest several possibilities in this historic neighborhood. One is the overlook in front of the Immaculata Church. It gives you a wonderful view of the skyline and the riverfront area as the sun sets. There are also two restaurants that offer spectacular views in Mount Adams. The Celestial is upscale and a bit of an older crowd, while the Pavilion is younger and more casual. Several other restaurants in the neighborhood do not offer views. You could dine at one of these locations, and take a romantic stroll to the overlook. The other really good option is the riverfront. The skyline looks great during sunset, especially in good weather. If there are some clouds that is ok, because the clouds often light up in multiple colors during the sunset. On the riverfront go to the Kentucky side. There are floating restaurants such as Mike Fink, and the Waterfront. For a pleasant walk, you can stroll along Riverside Drive in Covington. It is a very nice, romantic spot. In Newport, there is the Newport-on-the-Levee complex. It has some casual restaurants and pubs that overlook the river. And a great spot nearby is the Purple People Bridge, where you can view the setting sun from above the river. In addition, you may want to look into a cruise with BB Riverboats. (Some people may advise you to go to Devou Park. Don't go there late in the day. There are alot of unsavory characters that hang around Devou, and it is crawling with cops that spy on everyone.) Others I didn't know there was anywhere romantic in Cincinnati. another great spot to watch the sunset is downtown on the wall.it over looks the river. the view is breath taking..its down by sawyer point... go to deveu park in covington, kentucky. The revolving restaurant at the top of the Radisson Hotel on the Kentucky side of the river has great views of downtown Cincinnati at night. The food is good but a bit pricey. However it is definitely not fast food. The staff are great - expect the service to be slow and unrushed because it takes an hour for the restaurant to make one revolution - enjoy it. If you have three courses and coffee you can make it last two hours!!!...or you can just go up there for drinks and the view. They won't mind you going up there to check it out ....just to take a look before you book! http://www.radisson.com/covingtonky... Cincinna is partly right about the restaurants in Mt. Adams but Eden Park also is a romantic place to watch from called Eden Park. It overlooks the river and Dayton KY and Newport on the Levee and ya can also see some of Downtown's skyline. The other place is take I-75 to west bounf I-74. Get off at the Nothbrnd exit and turn west, back over the interstate and on the left is a big old church. This is one of the highest points of Cinci and you can park, looking west. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! |
