My impression of Cincinnati....do you agree? |
Travel Info After a ton of research about the city of Cincinnati, and whether it would be a good place to relocate to, one apparent fact raised up and smacked me square in the face. Cincinnati's population growth is flat. I look at the stats from the census bureau, and the population growth is like 2% over the past 5 years. Some cities in OH are losing population. So as much as I am drawn to the idea of wooded Cincinnati, I want a city that is booming. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Do you think it's a vibrant, dynamic, and growing place to live? Travel Tips GTOAP is right. The only place that is the "original Cincinnati is right downtown . Cinci is made up of a lot of little towns,some are incorperated into Cinci and some are "their own little towns' with separate city govts.,police and fire depts. We also have "townships" within Cinci's boundaries but not a part of Cinci (Springield township,Columbia twnsp,etc,etc, ) Also, like GTOAP said Butler,Warren,and Clermont co. surrounding Hamilton Co(Cinci) are the 3 fastest growing Co. in the state. But traffic is a real "pain in the wazzoo" if ya work downtown or across the "river" (either side) N. KY is also booming as the 3 Co's at the top of the state(Boone,Kenton,& Campbell) are the fastest growing in Ky and right across the "river" from Cinci. Newport,and Covington are Booming along the riverfront!!!We also have a lot of good school systems and Universities inand around Cinci. Univ of Cinti.(11th largest in the USA) Xavier,Miami of Oxford(beautiful campus) Mt. Saint Joseph,NKy. Univ,. We have a REAL GOOD hospital set-up as there is a Veteran's hospital.U. of Cinti hospital,Christ,Good Sam,and Clermont ,Anderson,Fairfield mercy. Francescanand a few others in N. Ky like St luke(2 of them) We have sports of all sortsboth on the college level and pro baseball and minor league ball too Football,arena football too.Soccar is also very popular here but we don't have any pro teams. We have A LOT OF PARKS, both city and County run as well as about a hundred golf courses too.Not to mention Kings Island amusement park. Horse racing at 3 parks . Racing,we got N.Ky speedway.and 3 dirt track raceways. 3 dragstrips( 1 in N ky and 2 on the outskirts of the city. Nightlife, OH MAN,both sides of the river,along with a renowned aquarium in Newport on the river and lots of restaurants and entertainment on the river. We are the center of the "hub" with Columbus to the North,Huntington W. Va to the east. Lexington to the south,Louisville to the south west and Indianapolis to the west( all within 110 mi from downtown Cinci. Our Octoberfest is second only to Germany's. We have a wide diversity of ethnic backgrounds here tooand in many different neighborhoods. We have museums,a symphony Orchestra, why we even have what is called Khron Conservatory, ( a big greenhouse,actually) with about every plant and tree known to man. Norwood,hyde Park, Oakley,O'Bryonville,Eastern Ave along the river,Terrace Park,Milford, Saylor Park,Price Hill,Cheviot,in / around Cinci. Covington,Newport,Wilder,Ft Thomas,Villa Hills, Erlanger,Florence,etc,etc! Source(s): I could go on and on but maybe ya get the idea (I hope) Other Travel Tips Toledo Ohio I would say it depends on what you really want. There are many parts of Metro Cincy that are booming. Mason and Westchester are 2 examples. Also, Ky is just across the river. Many of us don't aspire to live in the city but rather in the burbs. Check out Warren County. It is growing fast. Also, if you live in the right place, Cincy, Dayton and Columbus are all nearby. |
