What are five places one must see when visiting Cincinnati, Ohio? |
Travel Info What are five places one must see when visiting Cincinnati, Ohio? Travel Tips There is a lot to see and do but it depends on your interests. Check out this site - it has information on all of the attractions in the area. http://www.cincinnatiusa.com/attractions... My favorite things to do with visitors...in no particular order 1 Downtown. Go to the top of the Carew Tower downtown. Great views of the tri-state area. Also, while there check out the Hilton Hotel if you are into art deco and their buffet is good too. The (small private collection of art) Taft Museum is worth a visit - only takes about 90minutes. Fountain square is a construction site right now ..not very pretty. 2. Union Terminal Museum Center - is a great building which you can take a behind the scenes tour for free or go to one of the three museums History of Cincinnati, Natural History or Children's and also the Imax theater is there. 3 The Zoo and Botanical gardens. 4. Go over the river to Newport on the Levee. Newport is a great area to hang out, eat and drink, catch a movie. The Aquarium is my favorite place - great shark viewing. Also you can take a guided climb of the Purple People Bridge if you don't mind heights. 5. Eden Park where you will find the Art Museum and Krohn Conservatory (tropical plants) both of which have free entry. 6. Spring Grove Cemetary and Arboretum. Seriously - great place to walk, interesting history and self guided tours, lots of different plants, trees and birds. Others Let's see... King's Island, Cincinnati Zoo, Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati Art museum... If you're into music, Music Hall is cool. It's one of the major concert halls in the country. I'll Give You Ten 1. Fountain Square 2. The Cincinnati Zoo 3. The National Underground Railroad Museum 4. Kenwood Mall 5. The Great American Baseball Park for a Cincinnati Red's game 6. Skyline Chili, Gold Star Chili, or Camp Washington Chili 7. Kings Island's Amusement Park 8. Newport on the Levy (Greater Cincinnati) 9. Music Hall, The Aronoff Center, or Taft Theater for a play or concert 10. Rookwood Pavillion Freedom Center (its okay) Cincinnati Childrens mueseum (terminal) Cincinnati art museum KIngs Island just right outside cincy Coney island Everyone has pretty much given you consistant answers. Some must dos: 1) Reds game...first pro baseball team, baby! Plus there's a museum, too! 2) Omnimax/Union Terminal- Museum and the best Imax you will ever experience 3) Cincinnati Art Museum 4) Newport on the Levy, but most specifically Hofbrau House 5) Kings Island (personally I don't trust any rollercoaster that is wood and older than me...but hey, there's thrills!) 6) YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST come to Cincinnati over Labor Day weekend. The WEBN fireworks...we light bridges on fire! 7) You can climb the Purple People bridge 8) The Cincinnati Zoo is awesome and inexpensive (and you can see a Bengal tiger!) 9) The Newport Aquarium 10) Argosy and the Queen Vic Riverboat casinos 11) Krohn Conservatory (plants you never knew exsisted) You also have to have Skyline Chili, Montgomery Inn, LaRosa's and Greaters. And if you can find them: The Cone in West Chester, Jolly's in Hamilton and Fairfield and in Oxford (Miami U) Bagel and Deli, Toasted Rolls and have yourself a Mindprobe... Have fun! We do it better in the Nati! Many personal and wonderful memories growing up in Cincinnati, OH |
