CINCINNATI can anyone direct me to a photo of the JERGENS MANSION? |
Travel Info In 1890, Andrew Jergens built a 3-story stone castle in Northside. (Gothic architecture) In 1967, his son, Andrew Jr. died, and his will stipulated that if none of his 4 children wanted to live in the castle, it should be demolished. None did, and it was torn down in 1968. The Cincinnati Historical Society has no photos posted on internet. Does anybody know an internet source for photos?? Thanks. Travel Tips I couldn't find a photo but here is a link that I found of a painting. http://www.cincinnativiews.net/residenti... Scroll down to the bottom to where it lists homes on Northside. Others Sorry- I searched and searched, but could come up with anything other than the paintings that the user above me found. Its kidn of amazing that no real photgraps seem to be able to be found of this place- you would think someone in Cincy would have taken a picture or two- there arent that many castles in Cincy. Earlier this morning I searched for pics of the castle you are trying to find, and had no luck. However, if you go to the link that potatochip posted, you can save the pics to your pc and print them from there. You would have to check for copyrights. Blues, wish I could be of more help, but I am in upstate NY. I just know I saved the pics to my desktop and they are incredible! The clarity is great! Jergens is now called Kao Brands (same location in Cincy). I wonder if anyone there might be able to help. I couldn't find anything anywhere either. Sounds interesting though! |
