Can you take a cigarette lighter on a airplane? |
Travel Info Can you take a cigarette lighter on a airplane? Travel Tips No, you cannot take lighters passed security into terminals in the U.S. In Europe and other countries it is no problem. It has been this way for about a year now. There is usually a large bin where you have to dispose of the lighter before you go through the detectors. So be sure not to bring any nice lighters with you that you will have dispose of. You can, however take matches into the terminal and on the plane- that is legal. Putting lighters in your checked baggage ahead of time is no problem Nasal snuff is something you might want to consider taking with you on a flight. It is ground tobacco that you take through your nose, and legal to use on the airplane. It isn't as strong as a cigarette in my opinion, but if you haven't had a cigarrette in a while you will feel the nicotine relief. Nasal snuff is a little hard to find, but any "tobacco" store will carry it. Others It is not a very good idea to take a lighter on a plane because, being in the air with alot of seats, people and fuel. Besides you cant smoke on a plane anyway i hope not! No they take 'em away now at the check in line. because of the recent terrorist acts travellers are not allowed with cigarette lighter on board.better to play safe than allow the evil people triumph. any airport security site not a very good idea? |
