What is it like to live in Toledo, OH?

Travel Info
I am moving from a southern state to Toledo, OH. I was wondering what to expect.

Travel Tips
I just moved to Toledo area from Cleveland area this last year. The weather is a lot milder than Cleveland. The storm systems quite ofter skip Toledo. The art museum here is awesome. Local tv reception within the city is prety good. The mall on Tallmadge and Monroe is very nice and ritzy. The Kroger grocery stores seem to have very good prices. The city itself is beautiful, tons of trees and old brick buildings (especially near the university!). Good Luck!

Why there are countless positions available in burglary, armed robbery, and many more! You could also become a pimp or prostitute the choices are limitless in Toledo, Ohio!!!

It is a struggling industrial town on Lake Erie. I haven't had much experience with Toledo, but the widespread perception is that it is disappointing. It is however in a good location. Detroit and WIndsor (Canada) nearby offer casinos, the resort-style Lake Erie Islands are a bit of the Keys on the North Coast, Cedar Point Amusement Park has awesome rollercoasters, and Cleveland has great restaurants, shopping, and museums.
I have lived around Toledo most of my life (even though I am in Columbus for school right now.) It's really not as bad as some people are making it out to be. You have to watch what neighborhood you move into. I would recommend moving to an area just outside of Toledo such as Perrysburg, Holland, Waterville, Maumee, Oregon, or Sylvania. Also, if you have children the schools are much better in these areas. Anthony Wayne, Maumee, Southview and Northview are all pretty good public schools.
There is also a good zoo, a historical village (Sauter Village,) a good museum, a great triple A ball field(Toledo Mudhens) and much more.

I won't say that I will stay in Toledo all my life, but I don't think you will hate it. There is a good mixture of restaurants, lots of Churches, and many cultures represented throughout the city.
If you plan on visiting Toledo, make sure to have lunch at Tony Paco's. It's a restaurant made famous in M*A*S*H, by Corporal Klinger and has fantastic hot dogs, chili, etc. They have a ton of hot dog buns (sealed in vacuum tubes) hanging all over the walls, signed by the famous people who have stopped by and eaten there, and there are tons!!!
