What countries do I need travel insurance in?

Travel Tips
If you are a Canadian or U.S. citizen you'll need travel insurance when travelling outside of the country. The same holds true if you are a citizen of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Italy and every other country in the world. Travel insurance is big business yet one must have it if travel is planned.

you will need travel insurance for every country other than your one of residence
i would get it for any sort of travel outside of your home country where you have medical coverage, jsut because you can never know where and when you are going to get sick, stranded, lose baggage, or be delayed.
I would recommend all. You can get cover for all countries apart from a few exclusive ones (I could imagine Lebanon, Gruznia -Forgot english name- , Nth. Korea and so forth would be on the exclusion list.)

Usually cover works by continent.

Just remember, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be covered. ;)

Search up 'Travel insurance' on the web and you should find plenty of providers.

For a 3 month trip for comprehensive cover, you should not be paying more than $400 USD.

Check each company for what they cover and how you may make claims.

Insurance companies are cheeky, the best insurance is your travel partners. ;)

insurance is some thing you must have, even without you traveling
I would personally get it if I'll be staying in another country for a longer period of time, where there are higher risks of me getting ill in that country or where there are higher chances of me getting my airport luggages lost / mishandled there. You might wanna consider getting it also if the country's political situation is very uncertain and if there are many demonstrations/riots taking place there - just in case you lose your belongings there or your health (or life! ... *gulp!*) is affected.

Generally, if you really want to be on the safest side, get a travel insurance when you're travelling for a longer period of time (say, for more than 1 month of stay) to a third world country (I hate to use this term, actually) or to a not-so-developed country. This is so that you don't have to worry about all the other hassles of inconveniences while travelling.

All the best!
