What are the middle class safe neighborhoods around Cleveland? |
Travel Info What are the middle class safe neighborhoods around Cleveland? Travel Tips Middle class and safe are pretty ambiguous terms. Plus there are so many suburbs in the Cleveland area. There are about fifty municipalities in Cuyahoga County alone. If you could provide additional details, that would help me answer your question. I assume you are looking for a house. How close to Cleveland would you like to be? What side of town do you want to be on? What price range are you looking for? Older or newer neighborhoods? Good schools or the best schools? What kind of recreation, restaurants, shopping are you looking for? Family friendly or young professional friendly? Conservative or liberal? Would you want good public transit service? Generally the most desirable neighborhoods are as follows: West Side: along the Lake and I-90 - Lakewood, Rocky River, Fairfiew Park, Westlake, Bay Village and Avon Lake. East Side: In the Chagrin Highlands region and along I-271 - Beachwood, Pepper Pike, Shaker Heights, Mayfield Village, Lyndhurst, Chagrin Falls, Moreland Hills, Gates Mills, Hunting Valley, Bentleyville, Warrensville Heights, Highland Heights, Solon, Orange I would stick to communities in Cuyahoga County. Outside of Cuyahoga the homes and neighborhoods aren't as attractive, the schools aren't nearly as good, and all the best shopping/dining/services are within Cuyahoga County. It is considered pretty tacky to live in a county outside of Cuyahoga. Personally, Rocky River is my favorite. I think it has the best of everything, great location, great character. Certainly safe and middle to uppser class along the lake. Others shaker heights northridgeville is a good place and um lakewood middle to high clss patroled pretty good by local P.D. neeto_1225@yahoo.com The further out you go the better. Better yet, leave Cuyahoga County all together and move out to Lorain County. It is only 25 miles to downtown, affordable and very safe. Besides that, the taxes are cheaper. Cuyahoga has a one-half extra percent tax on everything you buy, as well as sin taxes on beer and cigarettes. Over all, Cuyahoga County's tax rate is 7.5%. Lorain's is 6.25%. When you are purchasing a car or a house, the savings is signficant! Even everyday life things such as soap, clothing, and non-food items are just that much cheaper out of county. (East Side) Shaker Heights, University Heights, Euclid, East-lake, Northfield, Warrensville, Bedford, Chargin Falls, Maple Heights (West Side) Westlake, Rocky River, Lakewood,Middleburgh Heights, Parma, Parma Heights, Berea, Bay Village, Strongsville |
