Where are the trendy neighborhoods in the Cleveland area?

Travel Info
My husband and I are moving to the Cleveland area for work. We do not mind a long commute, do not have kids, but have pets. We are looking for a trendy area to start looking for houses. Please provide any suggestions. We like downtown areas, easily walk to restaurants, pubs, stores etc. Also, interested in farmers' markets and parks. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Travel Tips
depends how close you want to be. as long as you dont live in the city you can find someone nice but it will cost you. Lakewood is nice. there is a long street(sorry i forget the name. its a route i know that much) there with a few good miles of houses and small shops, restaurants, etc. Westlake is about a half hour or so from Cleveland but its got a lot of fun stuff to do. Check out Crocker park. Its super trendy. Its basically brand new. Its all great shops and restaurants with luxury apartments above them. they have a site>>> www.crockerpark.com

Cleveland Heights is nice too. there are concert venues, great food, and fun little shops. and only about 10 minutes or so from the downtown area. anywhere near Coventry Road is a good spot. there are lovely town homes there too.

hope you enjoy Cleveland. Source(s): i live in the area and cleveland isnt as bad as people might suggest. you just have to find the right area for you.

Other Travel Tips
Sounds like you're describing Lakewood. Its a suburb just to the west and right on Lake Erie.

Lot's of great restaurants, pubs, coffee houses, unique stores, all within walking distance. And if you like markets, we have one of the best in the country: the West Side Market.

There's also all kind of housing from older style colonials, to high rise condo's on the gold coast with views of the lake and downtown Cleveland. I think you would absolutely love Lakewood.

BTW...I am a Realtor in this area. If you need any assistance with your relocation, or have any other questions regarding the Greater Cleveland area, feel free to e-mail me.

Best of luck to you.
there really aren't many. if i were you, i'd live in Independence which is a suburb 5 minutes from Cleveland.
Ohio City, Tremont Area., Coventry Area, Shaker Heights, Chagrin Falls, Cleveland Heights, Lakewood, Beachwood, Bay Village. Good luck and God bless****
You are most definetly NOT looking for Lakewood. It is NOT trendy.... There are a lot of apartments right down town. If you go just a tad west (and I do mean a tad) of downtown, there is the West Side Market (link below) (there's a bunch of other links on that website you might find informative). Here's some of the apartments (link below).
