What is the best suburb of cleveland to live in?

Travel Info
I know this is a tough question, but hopefully I get some good advice. Professional married couple, late 30's, moving to the Cleveland area for a job relo. My wife stays at home. We have 4 kids, and schools are very important, as well as low crime. Cost of living not so much, we are moving from Maine where it is VERY expensive. I will be working in Twinsburg, so something within 40 mins of there would be ideal. Thanks for your help!

Ironically, I went to school at the University of Maine in Orono and moved back home to the Cleveland area.

I鈥檓 not sure what your price range is, but given that you indicated that you are a 鈥減rofessional鈥?with children and quality schools are important, I鈥檇 recommend that you give a closer look to Solon and Hudson. Both would be considered the more 鈥渁ffluent鈥?communities in Northeast, OH, both have top-notch school systems, and both are minutes away from Twinsburg.

A man who was from Connecticut found Hudson in 1799, so it has many New England kind of traits. It has many century homes and even newer homes follow the traditional colonial style. There is a traditional town square with a clock tower, gazebo, and many independent restaurants and retail shops. Hudson attracts many higher income professionals who live in the area specifically for the Hudson School District, which was ranked on of the top 100 in the nation.

Probably the only negative about Hudson is its lack of diversity.

Solon is a newer developed area, so you will find a large range of housing styles and more modern developed housing tracts. As a 鈥渘ewer鈥?developed area, Solon has no town square or equivalent and lacks the historical century homes. The school system in Solon in excellent also; comparable to Hudson. Solon is also a more diverse city, with a broader population.

Summary:
Hudson: Historical, New England feeling small town with excellent schools. Has reputation for lack of diversity and high income of its residents.

Solon: Newer city, with modern amenities and a great school system. Lack historical charm, but has more diversity than Hudson.

Lastly, I currently reside in Hudson and love it.
