Is cleveland ohio, a good place too live? |
Travel Info planing too move there. how 13 the cost of living there ? Travel Tips Cleveland ROCKS. :-) Seriously - Cleveland is a great place to live. I've lived in two different states & just moved back for good in May of last year. Cost of living really depends a lot on where and how you choose to live. Houses can run from the low $100s (sometimes even lower) to more than $400k. What I like is that you can choose from new construction, or grab one of the older homes w/personality. :-) There's a ton of stuff to do...from museums to concerts, sports, nightlife. I don't know where you live now, but I think you'll be happy with the move here. Others drew carey seems to think so. I suggest you find a suburb to live in.. don't live in the city, if you can help it.. The school systems in the suburbs are much better.. the person before me was really accurate regarding the cost of real estate.. it's pretty low on the scale of cost of living. There are a lot of fun things to do here in the summer.. Winter is kind of quiet.. we're all too cold and crabby :-) Good luck! Email me if you have any direct questions regarding suburb areas.. Cleveland is a great town. It takes some getting to know, because it isn't known for all its art and culture, but it has lots of both of these. It is packed with Universities, theatres and fine restaurants (eat at Fat Fish Blue!!, or Pickwick and Frolic!) And the cost of living in Cleveland is quite low. When you get there, check out Coventry, which is a trendy area in Cleveland Heights in the suburbs. You HAVE to have a car to get around in Cleveland, but there is a decent bus adn RTA trains system for those occasions when cars are a problem. When it re-opens in a couple of years after a major overhaul, go to the Cleveland Museum of Art. It is one of the best in the whole country. You wouldn't believe how many extremely famous paintings they have. I am trying to get into grad school at Case Western, and when and if i get there, I'll be happy to show you around. PS The Cleveland Symphony is one of the top 10 orchestras in the world. And the Warehouse District nightlife ain't too shabby. The armpit of Ohio. Depends on what you like. I prefer to live in Columbus metro; but have friends that adore Cleveland -- and we usually end up at Browns/Indian games or just out and about down town a few times a year. They had a place in the city and loved it and now live out in the suburbs and miss the downtown vibe. So is it a good place to live? Sure. I live like an hour away from cleveland, its a great place.. but i would find suburb to live in, i wouldnt want to stay in the city! |
