Is Cleveland in Ohio a nice place? |
Travel Info I friend of mine moved there from Miami.I'm just curious to know if it's a good place. Travel Tips i was born and rasied in cleveland i tell ya now that i have a family u couldnt pay enough to live in that crap city, even most surrounding cities and suburbs are becoming run down slowly. The crime rate is too high and it seems like no one cares. My fil had someone come into his house and beat up his 14 yr old son (whihc i might add he was an adult assaulting a minor) and the prosecutor is "leaning" towards pressing charges, come on what message does that send. But anyways its a fun place if u dont have a family and just want to party, there is alot to do. I would visit downtown for the museums and the playhouse and such but i would live in a cardbaord box before i ever live there again. The schools werent that bad when i went to them but my brother now goes to the one high schooland ya i wouldnt want my kids going there, the suburd schools closely surrounding cleveland arent much better either. i wouldnt waste my time on that run down POS place. Oh and it was ranked what number 2 in highest crime rate or whatever, ya i dont like visiting family and wanting to do to the nearest burger king and them saying to lock the doors and dont roll the window down alot and roll it bakc up after ordering. I now live in middlefield which is all amish country and u can leave ur keys in the ignition of ur car and not worry, i even accidently went to the store with my front door completely open and came back and everything was good. But basically around here u gotta either live in the country or pay 300 thousand for a house in a rich nieghborhood. good luck to ur friend Others yeh, if you like the ghetto. It's like every other city on the planet....run down, dirty, and polluted. why would you move from miami to cleveland? hes going the wrong direction. Anyplace can be good, or bad. It's all in what YOU bring to the table. no I lived in the Cleveland area and have for most of the past fifteen years or so. Downtown and the outlying suburbs are the places to be. Outside downtown, in the City proper, there are pockets of poverty like any other large City (except, maybe, San Diego because it appears no poor people can afford to live there). I think that it's a good place to live if you're in the burbs. I am from a small town in the mountians in Oregon, and usually hate going to the cities in the mid-west. However i went to Cleveland about a year and had a great time. I was visiting for a wedding, and went to the Rock N Roll hall of fame, the botanical gardens and ate at some great restaurants. I am sure there are "ghetto" areas but every city has those. I thought it was a decent place to visit but not my taste for living. |
