Where to live in western Cleveland, OH?

Travel Info
I will be moving to the Cleveland area in the next 6 months and I have no idea where would be a good place to live. I will be working in Huron, but I don't mind commuting from western Cleveland area as long as is no more than a 45 minute drive or so. I don't know anyone there and will be moving by myself, so I need a place that has enough "life" so I can meet new people. I am definitely not a small town girl, I like cities or big towns. I am in my 30's, which might be something to keep in mind, and no children - just the sweetest dog in the world.
Thanks*

Travel Tips
Western Suburbs such as Rocky River, Lakewood, and Bay Village are a stone's throw from Cleveland. Good school systems and more of a suburban feel make these highly desirable areas to call home.

Lake Erie, always in the distance, gives you the feel of an open area in a small town. Booming areas such as Strongsville, Middleburg Hts, and Avon Lake, offer new construction and upper scale living.

One of the most popular suburbs of the last 10 years is Westlake. The new addition of Crocker Park, (An outdoor strip of fine clothing stores, restaurants, Movie theaters, and condo living.) has added to Westlake's already dominant presence.

Other Travel Tips
The nicest western suburb is Westlake. Bay Village and Rocky River are OK. North Ridgeville is OK too.
North Olmstead, Westlake, Bay Village are good places. All have great shopping, restaurants and lots to do. Easy drive to any part of Cleveland. I used to live in N. Olmstead and it only took me 15 mins to get downtown during rush-hour.
You want to live in Lakewood. It's a western suburb. There are a lot of people in their 20's and 30's living there. You're close to the Lake, entertainment, the Metro parks, and also right off of I-90, which is a straight shot to work (Huron). Have fun & good luck!

The other suggestions are good too, and in the same vacinity (Westlake, N.R., Rocky River) but there will be a few more families and less singles. Now that I think of it, do try Westlake because it really has come a long way in the last few years and may have newer homes/apartments and shops. It is also right off of I-90.

Where are you moving from?
Me-I grew up in western suburbs of Cleveland
If you want more culture, diversity and better nightlife options move to Lakewood. Easy access to I-90 both east towards Cleveland and west to Huron. You'll find that the area is very gentrified as opposed to some of the aformentioned areas. Although also a hop skip and jump from Cleveland I wouldn't recommend a place like North Olmsted, as it easy pretty much a strip mall hell with terrible traffic and garbage chain restaurants. Westlake is okay but nothing special. To me its a no brainer. Go to Lakewood or even to Cleveland itself. If you are willing to drive 45 plus minutes to work, whats 3 miles more to pay a cheaper rent or mortgage and be smack in the middle of a great city. I am a native Clevelander who now lives in Chicago and I have been all over the place, and IMO Cleveland is quite possibly the best mid-sized city in the Unitede States. Yes, I am partial, but there is so much to do and so much to explore if you are new to town. Anyone from the Cleveland area who has lived there for a long period of time will know all the hot spots but its fun finding them on your own. Best kept secret? Check out the MetroParks which is one of the best urban park networks in the country. Lake Erie is a truly under appreciated resource right at your front door if you live on the westside in a community like Lakewood. Either way...your going to love that town.
