Anyone know anything about Berea Ohio? |
Travel Info My husband is becoming a recruiter and we have to pick 3 places we would like to go. I came across Berea Ohio while looking online. I can find plenty of statistics and what not, but I'd like to know the truth about what it's like. Are there good and bad parts? How big is it? What are the people like? I just want to hear from someone who actually knows what it's like there. Thank you so much! Travel Tips Berea is a suburb of Cleveland, located on the southwest side of the city. It's a very nice middle-class area with a population of about 20,000. It's home to the county fairgrounds ( fair is held every August), and Baldwin-Wallace College. It's also home to the Browns training facilities. Not really any bad parts to it, just a nice, clean city. I'm sure you would enjoy it there. Source(s): Ohio Realtor Other Travel Tips Hoopfan is right. Nice place if you like that kind of living. State rt71 and rt 480 real close for traveling. Plus Cleveland Hopkins airport is just around the bend. There is this place called the IX Center that has some neat things every so often. Right now the have a amusement park during spring break. Mainly trade shows though. Plenty of shopping areas in town plus close by. A big Cleveland Metro Park system runs through the city for a get away. The weather is typical Ohio weather, you just never know. Hi! Berea is a college town which the above people did not mention. It is pretty, and has some nice areas. There are a lot of older homes, but that is near the campus of Baldwin Wallace College. There are plenty of people in this area, and for that reason, I wouldn't live there. It is middle class, and I agree there is a LOT of beautiful things there...the MetroParks is there, and some pretty neighborhoods. The Berea Commons is a pretty cool place to hang out, too. But, again, these are filled with college kids, as well as tourists when the Berea Fairgrounds is in use. I would ask what are the other two areas you are looking to live? Are they in the Cleveland area? If so I would more recommend Westlake, Bay Village, Avon, Avon Lake, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls...which are all relatively nearby Berea. I've grown up in the area my entire life and recently moved out of state. I lived in Lakewood....which I wouldn't recommend (haven't been able to sell our house there for eight months and 3 huge price drops later). If you would like more advice or info on areas, please feel free to email me! Good Luck! According to Mike Nichols it is the cleveland area equivalent of the South Bronx. Stay away at all costs. A famous quote from Nichols about the residents of Berea, "They see more in a day than you have seen in your whole life." Mike Nichols.... Lifelong Berea expert who is also very knowledgeable of motorcylces and chicks Berea is home to Baldwin-Wallace College (in the top 50 of colleges in the U.S.). It is a town where you can actually walk everywhere. It is very close to the Metroparks (Cleveland park system), the Airport, highways (480 and 71 which turns into 90), lots of restuarants (good ones too), the movie theatre, county fairgrounds and bars. There are not any bad parts of Berea. The people are nice. Berea used to be a quarry town, so there are some lakes too. It has its own Rec center with bowling alley, hospital, library and anybody can go to B-W's library, but only students can check out books. The college also has a pretty campus. Berea is a nice place to live. It is between North Olmsted which has Great Northern Mall, and Strongsville which has Southpark Mall. It is less than 20 min. from downtown Cleveland. Very good location, asthetic, has night life, culture and low crime. |
