Can anyone recommend a good way to do above-ground transportation in New York? |
Travel Info Will be going to New York in February and travel companion suffers from clausterphobia so subways are OUT OF THE QUESTION. Is there another way to effectively travel the sites of New York? Are there parking lots for Free you can park to get on a bus? Or are there shuttles from popular hotel areas tto destinations? We'd prefer not to have to go taxi and we're told parking is nearly impossible. Travel Tips Buses, period. You can get an all day or multi-day bus pass for city buses at any subway station. Bear in mind: NYC is LARGE & buses can be excruciatingly slow. There's an open double deck tourist bus that I think lets you hop on - hop off at major tourist venues. Parking is not impossible: just impossibly expensive & not always convenient. Others The best way I have found is the taxi. Though expensive, they know exactly where to go and get you there fast. The bus system was not a good way for me. It took forever and you had to plan things by the bus schedule. taxi or car service |
