Anyone know anything about Wadsworth, Ohio? |
Travel Info That is my Dad's hometown. I know it is near Akron. My Dad left when he got drafted into WW II. I want to find out what it is like there now. Help will be appreciated. Travel Tips I am about twenty minutes from Wadsworth and have many friends who live there. Most of us affectionately call the town "Mayberry" because, until the past few years, it definitely had that one horse town vibe! It still is very community orientated but is growing quickly. They have a super walmart now, which, oddly enough, brings plenty of people from neighboring cities (including my own) to the town for shopping. Because of the traffic the new stores brought, they have opened up more eating establishments on the main strip of road that makes up the 'down town' area of wadsworth. The super walmart opening was actually a big to-do in the town. Many people were against it. "Great controversy arose between the City Council and the area's older residents, who argued vehemently against big-box retailers." A great site to vist is the cities actual website http://www.wadsworthcity.com/ it has lots of great information and some pictures also! Others Hi! My cousin lives in Wadsworth and has all his life. It is a nice rural suburbian area south of Cleveland. The last time I was there it had a lot of new housing development going in, but still has the small town charm. The people are nice, and it is a safe community. Is there anything specific you would like to know about it? |
