Where can i get the best travel routes and prices to go to Ireland? |
Travel Info I hope to go to Ireland and see where my ancestors came from,so I want to know all I can about how to get there, best ways to travel and approximate cost. Travel Tips Are you adventurous? Last time I went for three weeks and other than my 1st and last night hotels, I didn't book in advance for places to stay (I went in October-- I would not recommend this approach in the summer high tourist season). I would ask the innkeepers where nice places to go were, and I'd get in my car in the morning and pick a direction, armed w/ a map and Michelin guide. I found the most fabulous places and people, and stayed clear of touristy places. Ended up where Irish people tend to go for holidays in country. The excellent Intourist offices are virtually everywhere so if you don't drive by a B&B you like, you can stop in and have them make arrangements for you. Otherwise, I'd just look for vacancy signs or walk up to the door and knock. This approach is not for everyone, but it was a great holiday! Others Check out Twizi.com, they list places to stay all over the world for less than 25 dollars, mostly hostels. The link below goes to their Dublin page, enjoy! http://www.twizi.com/dublinhostels.htm... Try book your flight tickets as early as possible, with most airlines the earlier you book the cheaper it is, we got flights with delta flying from dublin to new york round trip for 276 dollars and we arent going till november. There is a website that you can look up budget hotels anywhere in the world, they have been rated by people that have stayed there www.hostelbookers.com, I've used this to book private hostel rooms around the world and have always been happy with the standard. www.deltaairways.com www.aerlingus.com |
