Cheap fly drives from South Wales to Cork or Dublin areas?

I live in South Wales and when we go to Ireland we have always taken the ferry and driven our own car. But the sea journey is so stomach churning, I was so sick last time I vowed never again!

Trouble is - isn't it much more expensive to fly and hire a car when you get there? Are there are good packages? We'd probably fly from Cardiff Rhoose airport and we usually go to either Cork or Dublin.
