Is it true that most Cork people can't speak English?

Travel Tips
Here is what I have learned on my visits to Cork: Irish is the official first language of Ireland. Some Cork people can speak english but can't be understood by most. Most Cork folks can't speak irish and of those that can, they cannot be easily understood by Irish speakers from other provinces. Believe it or not, it is easier to understand Cork peoples' english when they are drunk because they slow down and make more sense.
